Dal Fry

For Pressure Cooking:

  • Toor dal (washed) – 1 cup
  • Turmeric (haldi) powder – 1/2 tsp
  • Salt to taste

For Tadka

  • Ghee – tbsp
  • Jeera/ cumin seeds – 1 tsp
  • Hing/ asafoetida – a┬ápinch
  • Chili powder – 1 tsp

Method

For Pressure Cooking

  • Pressure cook the dal for the 1st whistle on high flame and 2 whistles on low flame.

For Tadka

  • In a kadai, heat the ghee and add jeera, Hing and chili powder.
  • Add cooked dal and mix well.

How to proceed

  • Serve immediately garnished with fresh chopped coriander leaves.
